It’s also fine to die in our beds
on a clean pillow
and among our friends.
It’s fine to die, once,
our hands crossed on our chests,
empty and pale,
with no scratches, no chains, no banners,
and no petitions.
It’s fine to have a clean death,
with no holes in our shirts,
and no evidence in our ribs.
It’s fine to die
with a white pillow, not the pavement, under our cheek,
with our hands resting in those of our loved ones,
surrounded by desperate doctors and nurses,
with nothing left but a graceful farewell,
paying no attention to history,
leaving this world as it is,
hoping that, someday, someone else
will change it.

 I am standing for peace and non-violence. 

Why world is fighting fighting 

Why all people of world 

Are not following Mahatma Gandhi, 

I am simply not understanding. 

Ancient Indian Wisdom is 100% correct. 

I should say even 200% correct. 

But modern generation is neglecting- 

Too much going for fashion and foreign thing. 

Other day I’m reading in newspaper 

(Every day I’m reading Times of India 

To improve my English language) 

How one goonda fellow 

Throw stone at Indirabehn. 

Must be student unrest fellow, I am thinking. 

Friends, Romans, countrymen, I am saying 

(to myself) 

Lend me the ears. 

Everything is coming- 

Regeneration, Remuneration, Contraception. 

Be patiently, brothers and sisters. 

You want one glass lassi? 

Very good for digestion. 

With little salt lovely drink, 

Better than wine; 

Not that I am ever tasting the wine. 

I’m the total teetotaller, completely total. 

But I say 

Wine is for the drunkards only. 

What you think of prospects of world peace? 

Pakistan behaving like this, 

China behaving like that, 

It is making me very sad, I am telling you. 

Really, most harassing me. 

All men are brothers, no? 

In India also 

Gujaraties, Maharashtrians, Hindiwallahs 

All brothers 

Though some are having funny habits. 

Still you tolerate me, 

I tolerate you, 

One day, Ram Rajya is surely coming. 

You are going? 

But you will visit again 

Any time, any day, 

I am not believing in ceremony.

सुभाषितानि - 6 (Subhashitani - 6)

1. रे रे चातक! सावधानमनसा मित्र क्षणं श्रूयतां, अंभोदा बहवो हि सन्ति गगने सर्वेऽपि नैतादृशाः ।                

केचिद्वृष्टिभिरार्द्रयन्ति वसुधां गर्जन्ति केचित् वृथा, यं यं पश्यसि तस्य तस्य पुरतो मा ब्रूहि दीनं वच: ॥

हिंदी अर्थ: श्लोक में चातक पक्षी से संबोधित करते हुए कहा गया है कि वह सावधान रहे क्योंकि आसमान में कई प्रकार के बादल होते हैं। कुछ बादल जीवनदायक वर्षा करते हैं, पर कुछ केवल गर्जते हैं और कुछ भी नहीं देते। इसलिए जो भी तुम्हें मदद या सहारा देगा, उसकी खोज समझदारी से करो और किसी के सामने कमजोर वाणी से याचना न करो।

2. साहित्यसङ्गीतकलाविहीनः साक्षात्पशुः पुच्छविषाणहीनः।  

तृणं न खादन्नपि जीवमानः तद्भागधेयं परमं पशूनाम्॥

हिंदी अर्थ: जो मनुष्य साहित्य, संगीत और कला से वंचित होता है, वह बिना पूंछ और बिना सींगों वाला साक्षात् पशु के समान होता है। वह घास नहीं खाता हुआ भी जीवित रहता है, यानि यह पशुओं के लिए बड़ी सौभाग्य की बात है।
यह श्लोक भर्तृहरि के नीतिशतकम् से लिया गया है।

3. अश्वं नैव गजं नैव व्याघ्रं नैव च नैव च ।

अजापुत्रं बलिं दद्यात् देवो दुर्बलघातकः

हिंदी अर्थ: अश्वं (घोड़ा) नहीं, गजं (हाथी) नहीं, व्याघ्रं (बाघ) नहीं, न ही कोई और बड़ा जानवर, बलिदान (बलि) देवता केवल अजापुत्र (बकरी के बच्चे) को देते हैं। अर्थात् देव भी दुर्बलों को हानि पहुँचाते हैं। समाज में या सत्ता व्यवस्था में अकसर ताकतवरों को शक्तिशाली माना जाता है और वे सुरक्षित रहते हैं, जबकि कमजोरों को ही नुकसान और कठिनाइयों का सामना करना पड़ता है।

4. सर्वं ज्ञेयं परं सा विद्या यया तु सुखं न विद्यते।

 यस्मिन्नपि नास्ति सुखं तस्य विद्या किं फलति॥

हिंदी अर्थ:  संपूर्ण ज्ञान वह विद्या है जिससे सुख की अनुभूति होती है। जिसके अंतःस्थ सुख की अनुभूति नहीं है, उसकी विद्या का क्या महत्त्व?

5. काक चेष्टा, बको ध्यानं, श्वान निद्रा तथैव च। अल्पहारी गृहत्यागी, विद्यार्थी पंच लक्षणम्॥

हिंदी अर्थ:  काक चेष्टा - कौवे की तरह प्रयासशील और धैर्यवान होना। 
बको ध्यानं - बगुले की तरह एकाग्र और ध्यान केंद्रित रखें।
श्वान निद्रा - कुत्ते जैसी नींद लेना अर्थात सतर्क और कम नींद लेना।
अल्पहारी - कम मात्रा में भोजन करना ताकि शरीर हल्का और सक्रिय रहे।
गृहत्यागी - घर की सुविधाओं और आराम की मोह छोड़कर, पढ़ाई पर ध्यान लगाना।

यह पांच गुण एक आदर्श विद्यार्थी के लिए महत्वपूर्ण माने जाते हैं। इनमें मेहनत, एकाग्रता, सतर्कता, संयम, और त्याग शामिल हैं।

5. शनैः पन्थाः शनैः कन्था शनैः पर्वतलङ्घनम्। शनैर्विद्या शनैर्वित्तं पञ्चैतानि शनैः शनैः ॥

हिंदी अर्थ: राह धीरे धीरे कटती है, कपड़ा धीरे धीरे बुनता है, पर्वत धीरे धीरे चढा जाता है, विद्या और धन भी धीरे-धीरे प्राप्त होते हैं, ये पाँचों धीरे धीरे ही होते हैं।

6. न ही लक्ष्मी कुलक्रमज्जता, न ही भूषणों उल्लेखितोपि वा।

खड्गेन आक्रम्य भुंजीतः, वीर भोग्या वसुंधरा ।।

हिंदी अर्थ: न तो लक्ष्मी (धन-समृद्धि) जन्म से कुलीन होती है, न ही आभूषणों (भूषणों) का कोई उल्लेख ही है। खड़ग (तलवार) से आक्रमण करके ही भोगी जाती है—वीरों द्वारा ही धरती (वसुंधरा) भोग्य है।

7. गुणैरुत्तमतां याति नोच्चैरासनसंस्थितः। प्रासादशिखरस्थोऽपि काकः किं गरुडायते।।

हिंदी अर्थ: गुणों से ही उत्तमता प्राप्त होती है, ऊँचे आसन पर बैठने से नहीं। प्रासाद के शिखर पर स्थित कौआ गरुड़ थोड़े ही बन जाता है।
